Northallerton

Northallerton lies on the East Coast Main Line 30 miles north of York. This simulation is based upon the colour light signalling commissioned in 1939 and in use until taken over by York IECC in 1990. The highly authentic timetable is for Summer 1950. At that time Northallerton was an important junction, including lines to Leeds via Ripon and the Wensleydale branch still open.

The author grew up in Northallerton and was very familiar with the railway workings of the time so the simulation is a very realistic recreation of the era. There is a lot of freight traffic and many interesting classes of steam loco in evidence.

Northallerton is one of our Nostalgia Series simulations.

This simulation runs using our PC-Rail Plus software.
