The table below shows the required locking positions.
A lever number or name followed by 'N' means the lever must be in normal position.
Followed by 'R' means the lever must be in reversed position.
Lever no. followed by * indicate locking for flank protection or overlap protection. Note that the position of these levers may sometimes be either normal or reverse, but the lever is locked in that position when the signal is cleared.
Signals in opposite direction giving direct access to the route as indicated must always be at danger and are not explicitly listed in the table below. Signals in opposite direction which do not give direct access but must be at danger for overlap protection are included, and are indicated by *.

Column "calling on" indicates if the signal can be cleared on occupied track.
When signal requires 'caution', the signal must be kept at danger until the speed of the train is sufficiently reduced (approx. 10 mph).

GN Groundframe
--------------

Groundframe release :
Groundframe is released by lever 30.
Lever 30 reverse will release lever G1, and will lock all routes through this area.
Reversing lever G1 will release all other groundframe levers, and will also
release the shunt locations positioned in this area (see list below).
Lever G1 can be returned to normal if all other groundframe levers are in normal position, and also all shunt control buttons are in normal position.
Returning G1 to normal will allow lever 30 to be returned to normal, this will lock the groundframe and will release all routes through this area.

Condition for reversing lever 30 :
- no route to signal 05 may be set from the following signals :
   01, 08, 11, 15 or location DSK
- signals 41 and 42 must be at danger
- no train may have been accepted from Etwall
- TC section C3 must be clear

Hilton crossing
---------------
Setting lever HX to normal will close the level crossing.
This will release lever 14 allowing it to be set to normal.
Setting lever 14 normal will release signals 6, 9, 12, 44 and 45.

Lever 14 can be restored to reverse if signals 6, 9, 12, 44 and 45 are returned to danger and sections A5 and B2 are clear.
Returning lever 14 to reverse will release lever HX.
