GENERAL
  
In May 1989, York Integrated Electronic Control Centre (IECC) took control of the new track layout and signalling in the York area. 
   
Standard BR multiple aspect signalling is in use, with Track Circuit Block working.

RUNNING AND PLATFORM LINES

Bidirectional working is available on all through platform lines. Also on the Down Fast line South of No. 831 crossover.
   
Permissive working of trains of classes 1,2,3 and 5 is permitted on all platform lines. The capacity of platforms is as follows:-

Allowance is made in these figures for one locomotive. Reduce capacity by 1 for each additional loco to be accommodated.

Freight and ECS trains and light engines may terminate or originate from the Up Yard, North Sidings, Holgate Loop, Holgate Reception Sidings and Dringhouses Sidings. Also, for light locos only, the Loco Line.
