With its various junctions and over 20 stations this simulation features the very busy commuter lines in the Greater Manchester area.
Bolton itself, 10 miles north west of Manchester and close to the scenic West Pennine Moors, has one of the area's busiest rail stations. Salford Crescent is a major bottleneck, due to the four routes that converge there.
The layout is that in use since electrification and resignalling was completed in 2018. The timetable is for 2023, with 400+ trains over a full 24 hours. As well as the intensive services serving the Manchester area, trains serve longer distance routes to Preston, Cumbria and Scotland.
Keeping the trains running on time will provide the user with a considerable challenge!
