An iconic location, Beattock is north of the border on the West Coast Main line.The simulation is set in the days of steam when heavy trains needed assisting locos to be added for the long ten mile climb to Beattock Summit.

It does not look like a very complex layout but beware - there's more to it than meets the eye.

The timetable is for 1954 in the last summer for passenger services on the Moffat branch.
