Machynlleth is on the Cambrian line in mid-Wales, on the river Dovey (or Dyfi). The line from Machynlleth to Aberystwyth runs along the Dovey estuary, just above high water level, making it a very scenic route, though very vulnerable to storms and high seas.
Less complex than some of our Heritage simulations, this is a thoroughly enjoyable location to operate - a relatively modest layout but quite busy and with plenty of shunt moves. The timetable is for Summer 1959.
Note: Machynlleth is pronounced something like 'Makkhun-thleth'!
