Set in 1953, this unique simulation has a relatively simple layout but a very intensive service to operate, with trains serving Birkenhead, the Wirral peninsular and under the river Mersey to Liverpool.
It is a real challenge to run to time, especially during the morning and evening peaks, with over 1000 trains in the timetable. Slick operation is particularly needed at Birkenhead Hamilton Square, where trains often queued to get into the platforms. Trains also need to be split and recombined to meet the different demands of the peak and off-peak periods.
A nostalgic and very enjoyable recreation of another era.
