Wigston North Junction is situated south of Leicester on the ex-Midland Railway
main line. It is the junction with the line to Nuneaton and Birmingham and also,
until its closure, the line to Rugby. The Nuneaton line is now part of an important
cross-country route linking the East Midlands and East Anglia with Birmingham.
A challenging signalbox to operate, with the convergence of the 3 routes.
Operating is further complicated by the need to cross all down freight traffic, of
which there was a considerable volume, across both the main lines.
The simulation, in our Super Heritage series, features full manual
signalling, as used before the box closed on 29th June 1986, when Leicester
Power Box took over control of the area.
Wigston North Junction is one of our Heritage Series simulations.
This simulation runs using our PC-Rail Plus software.
