York has always been one of Britain's major rail centres and so will need little introduction. The PC-Rail simulation accurately captures the operation of all the passenger and freight services through the complex and busy York area, including the East Coast main line and the routes to Leeds, Scarborough and Harrogate.
Skelton and Skelton Bridge Junctions are also included and will challenge your operating skill. All traffic must of course be correctly routed via the East Coast Main Line, or the Leeds, Harrogate or Scarborough lines.
Freight and ECS traffic must be kept on the move too, including routing where necessary to and from the correct yard or sidings.
See also our York 1951 Layout simulation, which is a lot more complex. (Note that extension timetables are not interchangeable between the two simulations.)
